North Shore Bridge Club was founded in 1957 and moved to its present premises in 1978. The club rooms at Killarney Reserve, Takapuna, New Zealand are set in the reserve overlooking Lake Pupuke, which gives us one of the most pleasing situations in which to play bridge. We have four sessions each week for competitive play, all of which are open to all grades. In addition, there are social games on Monday & Wednesday mornings and Thursday nights suitable for people learning or returning to the game. Bridge tuition is provided on Tuesday nights. The Acol system is taught and played by most of our members. We run three Centre tournaments per year: 1 Swiss Pairs (5A), 1 Restricted (8B) and 1 Combined (5B/3B). The annual subscription is $80.00 and there is a table charge of $6.50 for each playing session. Visitors are most welcome to play at the Club. However, visits are limited to six times in any one calendar year if resident outside Auckland or three times if resident within. The table charge for a visitor is $8 per session. Our downstairs room is available for hire for community group activities. |
